Postgraduate

There is no statutory funding available at Postgraduate level (with the exception of PGCE Teacher Training and Social Work courses) so students will have to research other sources of financial assistance.

Career Development Loans

A Professional and Career Development Loan is a bank loan. You make an agreement with a participating bank to borrow an amount between £300 and £10,000. Then once you’ve stopped studying, you pay it back in the normal way. For further advice or to order an application pack please call the helpline on Freephone 0800 585 505 or go to www.direct.gov.uk/cdl

University Bursaries

Postgraduate bursaries are offered by individual Universities in Wales and you may find it helpful to search websites for further information on your eligibility.

Trusts and Charities

Studentships and research grants may be available for postgraduate courses from the research councils and other charitable sources.   The Prospects website provides considerable advice.
